Yoga for better sleep · Online with Sohan
Prepare your body and mind for deep sleep.
Online yoga sessions with Sohan, in a group or in private, for people whose sleep is slow to come or does not go deep.
Why sleep matters
Sleep is where the body heals.
Healing
The body heals and recovers while we sleep.
Regeneration
The body's tissues regenerate during sleep.
Memory
Memories are stored while we sleep.
This is why sleep is the most important part of our life. Good sleep also supports the body against the wear that comes with time.
What gets in the way
Many things can keep sleep away.
Sleep apnea, insomnia, restless leg syndrome, anxiety and high blood pressure can all get in the way of a good night's sleep.
Anyone dealing with these is welcome to practise, in a group or in private sessions.
The loop
Stepping out of the worry about sleep.
Not being able to sleep has a psychological side too. The worry about sleep begins to feed the sleeplessness, and it turns into a loop.
Yoga practice helps us step out of that loop.

The practice
Body and mind, both made ready for sleep.
The body
Slow breath, gentle movement and rest prepare the body for sleep.
The mind
The same slow pace settles the mind, so that it can let go of the worry about sleep.
The result
Deep sleep that comes without stress or struggle.
Questions
Good to know.
Who is this for?
For people who find it hard to fall asleep, whose sleep does not go deep, or who want to improve the quality of their sleep.
Is it a group class or a private session?
Both. You can practise in a group or in private sessions with Sohan.
Do I need any equipment?
Nothing special is needed. Whatever is within reach can support you, and the practice works just as well with nothing at all.
Do I need a doctor's advice first?
That is up to you. You are welcome to take your doctor's advice, and you can also begin without it. The practice is slow and gentle, and it goes alongside any treatment you are already taking.
How do I begin?
